Sometimes the skill of a good designer, such as those employed by Heaven & Stubbs, is having the ability to recognise when less is more and being able to produce a design that works with existing furniture elements as well as the style and character of the property – as this project perfectly illustrates.

Somehow, an island would have looked ‘too fitted and too slick;’ instead a design was created that made use of the customers antique table and chairs. Oak shelving arrangements, rather than wall cabinetry, makes the room feel lighter and is in keeping with the simplistic, humble feel that the property evokes.

The tall back wall features a run of floor to ceiling cabinetry, giving the homeowner plenty of storage – to include a wonderful pantry cupboard. The cabinetry’s light paint tone offers a pleasing visual contrast with the stained / antiqued oak cabinetry opposite whilst reflecting the available light from the two kitchen windows.
